How to Obtain an Afghan Birth Certificate in Germany

Nationals of Afghanistan residing in Germany, especially those living in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Hessen, Niedersachsen, Rheinland-Pfalz, or Saarland, can apply for a Birth Certificate at this mission.

Important Information and Instructions
  • The applicant must visit the Consulate in person. This document cannot be processed or issued in the absence of the applicant or via post or online.
  • Applications are accepted during the Consulate’s official working days and hour
Required Documents​

To apply for the Birth Certificate, the following documents are required:

  • Copy of Tazkira or Afghan Pssport: The applicant must provide a copy of his/her Tazkira or Afghan Valid Passport along with copies.
  • Proof of Residency in Germany: The applicant must provide a copy of his/her Personalausweis [Sample] (both side – showing the name and address of the holder).
  • One Passport-Size Photographs: The applicant must provide one recently taken photos with a white background [Sample].
  • Completed Online Application Form: Obtain and complete the form online. Ensure you have the confirmation number ready. Access the application form [here].
Issuance of the Document

The document will be issued on the same day after the completion of the following steps:

    • In-Person Interview: Applicants must attend a mandatory interview at the Consulate, where their documents will be checked based on the submitted documents and information provided during the application.

    • Fee: The fee for the Birth Certificate is €30. Payments can be made via bank card. Please note that credit cards are not acceptable.

    • Same-Day Issuance: Once all requirements are met, the document will be issued on the same day during working hours.
