New Passport Issuance Suspended

The issuance of new passports is currently suspended. Updates regarding the resumption of this service will be announced on the official website and Social Media pages of this mission.

Passport Validity Extension

Holders of previous Machine Readable Passports (MRP) may apply for a validity extension. Applications can be submitted either in-person or by post during the mission’s official working days and hours.

Required Documents for Passport Validity Extension
  1. Completed Application Form: The passport validity extension form can be downloaded [here].
  2. Original Passport and Copies: Include a copy of the data page [Sample]. If the passport has been extended before, include a copy of the extension page as well.
  3. Proof of Residency in Germany: Submit a copy of your Aufenthaltstitel/Personalausweis [Sample] (both side – showing the name and address of the passport holder).
  4. Extension Fee: The fee for a 5-year extension is €120. (Passports are only extended for 5 years starting from the date of expiry).
  5. Payment Proof (for postal applications): If submitting by post, transfer the fee to the mission’s bank account (details below) and attach proof of payment.
  6. Pre-paid Registered Envelope: Include a pre-paid registered envelope with your address clearly printed as the receiver. This will be used to send back your passport.
    If you cannot provide a pre-paid envelope, transfer an additional €8 to cover postal services and attach the receipt with your application.

    Submit your application during working hours. Payment can only be made via bank card at the mission. Please note that credit cards are not acceptable.

  • If you do not have a passport to renew and have been requested by German authorities to provide one, please apply for a Confirmation of No Passport issuance accordingly.
  • Important: Do not send cash by post under any circumstances.
  • Important: Do not send your original Tazkira (ID card).
