Transferring of Deceased to Afghanistan

Information on obtaining a Confirmation for Transferring of Deceased to Afghanistan

In the unfortunate event of the death of an Afghan citizen in Germany, the Consulate General provides a support letter to assist the family in transferring the deceased to Afghanistan. This letter facilitates cooperation with relevant authorities, including those in transit countries and airports in Afghanistan, to ensure a smooth transfer process.

Additionally, if requested by German authorities, a similar support letter can be issued for the transfer of an Afghan deceased without heirs, solely to ensure the process proceeds without complications.

Important Information and Instructions
  1. The service can be provided distanced and via post/email.
  2. The relevant authorities in Germany or the family of the deceased person can fill and submit request for a support letter via [Form] and, if applicable, mention the names(s) of person(s) planning to travel to Afghanistan during the transfer of the deceased. The submitted form should contain the required documents as attachments.
